The Basics of Landscape Construction
People normally connect the term “landscaping” with any work done outdoors, around their property. For ages, people have taken care of their yards for aesthetic and practical reasons. Adding plants to a yard or making any changes in the vegetation on an existing terrain is all a part of the landscaping science. However, when it comes to designing a whole new landscape or lawn on a residential or commercial property, then the term “landscape construction” should be used.
If you have just bought a beautiful house for your family and you don’t like its surroundings, you may hire a professional landscaper specializing in construction projects to help you design your own yard. The main goal here is to create an attractive and usable space for different outdoor activities.
The experts dealing with landscape construction are also called landscape designers. Their job is to help you create an outdoor space to meet your household’s specific needs and requirements using their skills and knowledge. Some of their responsibilities are:
Preparing cost estimation and quotations for construction projects;
Interpreting landscape architect’s plans;
Using construction skills, the ability to lay pavers, build retaining walls, build various hardscape structures, and more;
Installing irrigation systems and drainage systems;
Some specialists even have the skills and expertise to handle much bigger projects, including designing the outdoor areas around large industrial buildings, for instance. They might be licensed to do some concrete, masonry, and paving work as well. Generally speaking, such landscaping service providers take over three main projects – residential, commercial, and municipal. One thing is for sure, whatever project you have in mind, you need to find the right licensed and insured landscape architects for the job.
